With the fire crackling, the Christmas tree sparkling in the corner and mince pies in abundance, this season is as cosy as it gets. It also brings me back to an inspired styled shoot we recently created. It’s full of warm tones, gorgeous autumn wedding ideas and chocolate, of course!

When I first photographed a wedding at Wrights Anglers Rest I felt instantly inspired by its gorgeous decor. Its golden chandeliers, brick walls and open fires just call for an elegant and warm celebration. The liquid sweetness of chocolate and warmth of honey instantly came to mind and became the main idea of the shoot.

      Autumn Wedding Ideas

I met Katie of Aster Flowers and Events to discuss the flower  scheme we brainstormed for over 2 hours! She was instantly on board and couldn’t wait to start on the numerous floral pieces, including a tree as a centrepiece! With warm orange and red hues dominating the colour scheme, she created a festival of autumnal colour. If you are getting married in autumn, you are sorted for autumn wedding ideas!

Andrea of As You Wish put together a gorgeous stationery suits inspired by honeycomb shapes and chocolate texture.

And of course, no chocolate themed wedding could be complete without a fabulous cake! Olga of Cakes Sugar Babies outdid herself with this decadent Belgian chocolate and honey cake. I think this is the richest and most indulgent chocolate I’ve had in my life!

      Autumn Wedding Dresses

The shoot was made even more fun and sweet by the fact that my models – Miranda and Naoise – are a real life couple. I’d honestly had no clue that they had only recently started dating. They looked so comfortable and happy together! I think when Naoise saw Miranda’s gorgeous bridal look he fell in love with her all over again 🙂

We found two spectacular dresses at The Town Bride. The first is a sleek flowing mermaid gown perfect for an elegant intimate wedding. The other, an A-silhouette dress with a sweetheart neckline, creates a whimsical and romantic image. Paired with a matching jacket, it’s the ultimate autumn wedding dress. Michelle Lynch and Roisin Dempsey created two distinct bridal looks – glamorous and romantic, to match the style of the dress. Juvi Deisigns completed them with the perfect colourful gem jewellery, inspired by nature.

If you are after something more unique than traditional navy groomswear, take inspiration from Naoise’s brown tweed suit. Combined with burgundy waistcoat and colourful accessories and flowers, it’s a dream groom’s look for an autumn wedding.
