Looking for a wedding venue that boasts a romantic country feel yet is just an hour’s drive from Dublin? BrookLodge and Macreddin Village is a unique place. You can have a real village experience. There’s a real chapel, an entire village, a real Irish pub and a private wedding venue within the village.
BrookLodge Wedding – Location and Layout

As you drive over Macreddin Brook into the beautiful village with cute chickens grazing the grass, the view is pretty idyllic. The spectacular BrookLodge is covered in green ivy at any time of year. You feel like you’ve come to a charming Irish village. It has its own country pub, a cafe and a restaurant, a chapel, a spa, a dedicated wedding venue, luxurious overnight accommodation options and much more.
BrookHall and BrookMews provide luxury accommodation, with 30 bedrooms allocated for your guests on the night of the wedding. The village chapel is your private chapel on the day, perfect for a unique celebration. It seats up to 150 and caters for civil marriage ceremonies and intimate blessings.
As you walk across the green, you are greeted by the stunning view of BrookHall where you’ll host your grand wedding dinner.

Wedding Ceremony at Macreddin Chapel

There aren’t many venues in Ireland where you can have a civil ceremony in a chapel and save the drive to your venue. Macreddin Village is unique this way, and the beautiful chapel is the ultimate romantic spot. If you’d rather have an outdoor ceremony, there’s a beautiful green just beside the church. Imagine saying your ‘I do’s’ with the brook flowing in the background!

Reception at BrookLodge Wedding

BrookHall is a large private venue, perfect for an amazing wedding party. It houses the River Room and a Mezzanine Bar for your drinks reception. The River Room seats 200 diners (both long and round tables – you pick!). The highlight for me was the gorgeous decking overlooking the brook. I can just imagine how idyllic it is on a summer’s evening! In winter the stone fireplaces will keep you warm and cosy.
Intimate BrookLodge Weddings at Macreddin Village

I fell in love with Macreddin Village at first sight, especially with The Strawberry Tree restaurant. It’s Ireland’s first certified Organic Restaurant, serving only wild and organic foods. All produce is sourced from artisan suppliers and local areas, so it’s seasonal and fresh. The Big Table, besides being gorgeous, is perfect for intimate weddings. Seating from 8 to 44 people, the Big Table creates the ultimate dining experience. After a pre-start, the food arrives together in a sumptuous feast style. Guests can pick whatever food they want and help serve each other. This adds to the festive and warm atmosphere at the party.

After the wonderful feast you can have the rest of your party in the Actons Pub next door. It’s as charming and Irish as it gets!

Photo Opportunities at Macreddin Village

With a whole village at your disposal for wedding photos, you couldn’t get more creative. Wicklow’s beautiful nature is a dream for your photographs. There at plenty of little nooks and corners, with the winding brook and the colourful ivy acting as the ultimate romantic backdrops. For a rainy day there’s a covered decking so you can still get beautiful portraits outdoors. And chickens roaming around make it super cute!

Food at Macreddin Village

Food is one of the elements where Macreddin Village weddings really shine. With so many fresh and seasonal options in the adjacent counties, you’ll have a seasonal menu for your day. Besides more traditional options, in spring you can go with Wild Nettle and Nutmeg soup or duck breast with gingered potato cake. The summer menu has a huge variety of vegetables and fish. There are delicious ideas like wild prawns with avocado cream or stuffed sole with crab mousse and saffron cream. Autumn is full of earthy flavours. Try smoked mushroom salad or roast guinea fowl with raisin apricot stuffing and elderflower wine sauce. The Winter menu offers wild game terrine, roast swede soup and venison loin with bitter chocolate and blackberry sauce. I don’t know about you, but my mouth is watering just thinking about these!
