Ireland is a country of large weddings. You can’t compare us with Italy or Greece, of course, but when you are invited to a wedding you can expect at least a hundred people, and usually more. I say “us”, even though Russia (or specifically Moscow, where I’m originally from) doesn’t really do large weddings these days. My husband and I planned a fun party of 30 guests for our wedding. We never realised that in Ireland we’d have to look for an intimate wedding venue for our own big day.
We can talk at length about the advantages and disadvantages of both. But really, it’s your day, so it all boils down to what you see your wedding like. If you are in any way like me (or like lovely Justine and Paul in the photos below) you may be having a little trouble picking the perfect spot for your private ceremony. This Cliff at Lyons intimate wedding reception might just give you an inspiration.
Cliff at Lyons Intimate Wedding
Just 40 minutes away from the bustle of Dublin city there is a magical hideaway. It’s full of little cottages, incredibly cute and elegant details and stunning spots for photographs about 30 seconds away from your reception. Sounds like a dream, doesn’t it? Justine and Paul fell in love with Cliff at Lyons as soon as they saw the place for the first time. I shared their passion completely. Turn around any corner, and you discover yet another magical detail. On the day it feels like you are in your own little fairyland. There are lush gardens and vegetable patches. There’s a lake with a fountain, a little chapel almost floating on the water, a gorgeous conservatory and even a waterfall!
The sun did not shine upon us on this autumn day. I still felt that the grey weather even added a little something to how cosy the whole place felt. As soon as we arrived at the Village at Lyons, Justine, Paul and I made a quick run around the gardens for the gorgeous setting. I’m so grateful to the guys for bracing themselves for the chilly day! They were stunning together, and I love seeing their incredible chemistry in the photos. Justine and Paul, you are absolute stars and I’m so thankful for the pleasure of witnessing your beautiful Cliff at Lyons intimate wedding. I think the emotions in the photos say it all!
If you are just in love with this wedding as I am and want to have your own big day at Cliff at Lyons, do drop me a message. I can’t wait to come back there!
