Meet Karie and John. They are incredibly stylish, so very much in love, have an amazing connection and are about to get married! Up until a few weeks ago both Karie and John were living in the Philippines (oh, I do miss Asia…), so this was the first time we got to meet in person. I was looking forward to learning more about their wedding plans, but even more looking forward to taking some engagement photos in Dublin centre with them and seeing the connection. Every couple I meet has this really unique chemistry to them, the way they interact with each other and show emotions. This is why I love pre-wedding shoots so much – they are really helpful for me to see the best way to capture those candid moments on the big day itself.
Sometimes it takes me a bit of a chat and a few locations to figure out the best prompts for my couple. And sometimes I pick up a camera, and it just clicks. Karie and John were absolutely incredible during our session from the very start! I kept feeling that I should direct them just a little, asking them to do something, but then stopped myself seeing their amazing chemistry! Karie has the most beautiful smile and the cutest giggle, and John is incredibly tender and affectionate. And their spark!
Where to go for engagement photos in Dublin?
It was Karie’s first day in Dublin, and we took a bit of a walk around city center. I love Iveagh Gardens, a short walk from the busy St Stephen’s Green it’s an oasis of calm. By the end of our walk all the office workers had scrambled back to their desks, so it felt very secluded. Karie looked very stylish, even Parisian in her gorgeous black coat, and she even managed to make the Temple Bar and its cobblestones look cooler than they are! I really appreciated spending the afternoon with such happy people. Can’t wait to see Karie’s smile on her wedding day!
