2021 was a bit of a rollercoaster, wasn’t it? I can’t remember another year that passed so quickly and felt so long at the same time! I don’t think many people would call this year easy. There were a lot of happy times and a lot of challenges. But amidst all the uncertainty and change (and being a planner that I am I’ve never liked uncertainty!) the most important things have been constant. Family. Love. Friends. Home. And for these I am so so grateful.

And just as much I am grateful to all of my couples. To each and every one who powered through with their big day. no matter how intimate. Who weren’t afraid to open up and be vulnerable. Who invited me into their most private moments to share and document their joy. Each wedding filled me with newfound passion and hope. While true love and friendship like this exists we’ll be alright.

Year round-ups are always pretty difficult. How can I pick my favourite images when I remember the emotion in each photo, the story of each incredible moment that couples experience on one of the most meaningful day of their lives? And if choosing the photos was difficult before, 2021 took it to a whole new level.

While the first half of the year was pretty quiet the second half certainly made up for it in spades! In 4 months I ended up photographing as many weddings as I normally do in a full year! It was tiring, I’m not going to lie, but it was also absolutely exhilarating and exciting to witness so much beauty and love once again.

Here’s to an easier, happier and kinder 2022. To all the plans and dreams that were put on hold for so long finally coming to life. I have a good feeling about this one!
