Amy and Paul’s love story could easily be turned into a movie. When they first met at Trinity, Paul was taken with Amy straight away. However Amy wasn’t at all interested in her loud and boisterous coursemate! Then one day she was chatting to her friend about a fantasy book she was reading, and Paul who joined into the conversation. He actually had to convince Amy who didn’t believe him at first that he enjoyed reading as much as she did! With this sudden mutual interest they soon became friends, and as they say the rest is history.

These days they still read a lot of books and also go on a lot of hikes – like, a lot! These two themes were central to their wedding day in the beautiful forest setting of Tinakilly House. They fell in love with the venue straight away, from the old house with the lawn in front to the pavilion among trees. And being two outdoorsy people they loved the idea of lots of photos in the forest!

Amy and Paul tied in the book theme with their favourite fantasy books as centerpieces, a Harry Potter-themed ring box (I’m in love with it!) and confetti cones made of book pages. There was also lots of involvement from their family and friends. Their mothers both made the wedding cake (a tier each!) while one of Amy’s bridesmaids helped decorate it. There was quite an epic story on the wedding morning involving a cake and a dog but all worked out well!

Another thing that was very important to Amy and Paul was being present at our wedding and not spending the whole day away from their guests. We planned a first look before the ceremony and got gorgeous photos in the forest surroundings to maximise on the drinks reception now. Amy and Paul also had a van of Teddy’s ice cream serving 99’s in September sunshine after the ceremony, and it was definitely one of the highlights of everyone’s day!
