Burtown House is a hidden gem just on the outskirts of Athy. It’s one of the best wedding venues in Kildare. With the a beautiful Georgian villa as the centre, the venue has designer accommodation in the Stable Yard. There are lush gardens, a romantic fruit and vegetable garden and Green Barn restaurant serving organic produce. The restaurant and the gardens are open to the public but for Burtown House wedding you’ll have the place to yourselves.
Burtown House Wedding Ceremony
While the house itself is a private residence, there are several spots in the garden where you can have a beautiful outdoor wedding. The sundial garden is hidden behind green hedges. It’s a beautiful setting for an intimate ceremony. Cate and Ian chose the sundial garden for their wedding vows. Outside the main house there is a courtyard for a sun-filled celebration. Cate and Ian chose it to organize their drinks reception.
The Green Barn at Burtown House
Wedding dinner is always a big highlight, and the Scandinavian-inspired Green Barn restaurant is a wonderful spot. The food is a real delight. The produce is fresh directly from the garden. The menu is obviously seasonal, and the restaurant is self-sustainable. The produce comes from the walled kitchen garden, the polytunnels and the fields around the house.
Staying at Burtown House
There is enough accommodation at Burtown House to sleep 8 people. The Stable Yard is a uniquely decorated 3-bedroom house. Full of character, it features luxurious king-size beds, family art and open fires. The Studio apartment has a more modern feel to it, with high ceilings and large windows. The doors open to a beautiful mediterranean-style stable yard garden. It’s the perfect setting for getting ready for Burtown House wedding with your close family.
