Louisa and Joseph: Love, Kilts and Ceilidh

When Louisa and Joseph, childhood sweethearts from Scotland, chose to cross the sea to Ireland for their wedding, they envisioned something deeply meaningful – not just for themselves but for everyone who had been a part of th eir journey. Their love for one another was at the heart of the celebration, but just as important was the chance to share this special moment with family and friends. I loved all the beautiful Scottish traditions they brought to their magical day at Ballymagarvey Village – it was absolute joy to be part of their day!

A Celebration Beyond Just Two

From the start, Louisa and Joseph’s wedding was centered on a shared commitment to each other and to the friends and family who had supported them along the way. For them, the day wasn’t just a ceremony about their love; it was a celebration of everyone they cherish. As Louisa puts it, “We both wanted to make sure our wedding wasn’t only about us. It was about everyone we love and who loves and supports us.”

This also guided them when deciding on their wedding photos, and we connected instantly. They told me they wanted to be able to look back on their photos years from now and remember the emotions, the laughter, the joy, and the tears. This is music to my ears! And trust me – they were so many heartfelt moments on the day, my eyes definitely prickled more than once!

Highlights to Remember

When I asked Louisa and Joe to reflect on their wedding day, they shared two magical moments that will stay with them forever. For Louisa, it was halfway through the ceremony when she turned to look at Joe, only to catch a glimpse of everyone they loved, smiling up at them. “I felt so loved and supported. It was such a beautiful reminder that we weren’t just making this commitment to each other, but we were sharing it with everyone who mattered to us.” (Joseph jokingly reminds her that she “stole” this favorite moment!)

For Joe, the highlight came later on the dance floor. As they moved to their favorite songs, he looked around and saw the dance floor brimming with loved ones, all lost in the joy of the moment. “Seeing everyone we love having the time of their lives was amazing,” he recalls. The music, the laughter, and the packed dance floor symbolized not just a wedding but a true celebration of family, friendship, and love.

Advice for Other Couples

Louisa and Joe shared a great piece of advice: trust your suppliers and venue staff. “They know their stuff, and they’ll keep the day running smoothly,” they advise. From logistics to last-minute surprises, the staff at Ballymagarvey Village were a guiding hand, allowing Louisa and Joe to relax and enjoy the day without a single worry. “Trusting them made our day an absolute breeze,” they say, and I can only agree – the day couldn’t go more smoothly, and we were free to focus on what really mattered!

To Louisa and Joseph, thank you for letting us share in the joy of your beautiful day. Your wedding was a reminder of what truly matters—love, family, and the people who make our lives so full. Here’s to a lifetime of love, laughter, and all the people who’ll be there to share it with you!
