Olga and Chris: Cosy Christmas Wedding at the Anglers Rest

Olga and Chris may be living in the States, but their hearts – and their wedding – were firmly rooted in Ireland. Both from Irish families, they planned a December wedding at Wrights Anglers Rest that felt like coming home: cosy, relaxed, and centered around great food, music, laughter and, of course, pints of Guinness.

From the very beginning, they knew they wanted a day where everyone they love could be in one room, soaking up the atmosphere and enjoying the simple things that matter most. When they described their ideal day, it was clear why Anglers Rest felt like the perfect fit. Olga and Chris love nothing more than settling into a cosy pub, sitting by an open fire and enjoying a perfect pint — and this venue captures that feeling beautifully.

Guinness, Phoenix Park & Being Present

Guinness is woven through Olga and Chris’s story – their first date was a great night out over pints – so it felt only right to make it part of the wedding day too.

Before the ceremony, they shared a first look in Phoenix Park, taking a quiet moment together before the day unfolded. After that, all family photos were finished early, giving them space to slow down, reconnect and enjoy a pre-ceremony Guinness together — fully present, no rush, no distractions.

Just before their first kiss at the end of the ceremony, they raised their pints once more – a moment that felt completely them.

Irish Music, Pints & Celebration

The incredible Asgards Trad Band set the tone for the drinks reception. The music instantly filled the space with energy and warmth, creating that unmistakable Irish pub atmosphere. With live trad music, flowing pints, delicious food and all their favourite people together, the day unfolded exactly as Olga and Chris had imagined – easy, meaningful and full of life.
