Whenever I visit Martinstown House, I know I’m in for a treat. The venue is so unique and quirky that only the coolest couples choose to get married there! Sarah and Brendan were certainly no exception. Having worked in the wedding industry herself for the last few years, Sarah wasn’t afraid to put her own stamp on the day – and they definitely pulled it off!

I got the first glimpse when I saw the ultra-cool wand-like bouquet full of autumnal colours, Sarah’s incredible black-and-white dress and her DIY zebra shoes. It only went better from there. After doing the first look, the couple didn’t hide back in the house before the ceremony. They invited all their amazing friends and family, and they weren’t going to lose a moment of their day! The guests certainly didn’t expect to see the bride and groom so early in the day but the surprise made the hugs all the more special. By the time the ceremony was due to start, they’d had hello to everyone, broke the ice and were ready to enjoy the day.

There was a guest of honour who made a very special appearance on the day – Sarah and Brendan’s dog Juno. I love it that Martinstown House is a dog-friendly venue so you don’t have to spend your big day without your best friend!

After the ceremony with all the greetings and the photos out of the way Sarah and Brendan could enjoy all of their drinks reception. in the beautiful September sunshine. The speeches were a hit (cue Sarah’s mum’s face as Brendan told an incredible story of their first meeting ever… one that she didn’t remember!). Then it was good food, good drink and dancing into the night!
